storj is a zero knowledge system, so nodes are not liable for the data they store. there will also exist an opt-in mechanism where farmers can "subscribe" to blacklists curated by us (or others) like DMCA complaints (haha) or something that is legitimately damaging like CP. this way the farmer has complete control over the data she wishes store.

nodes have no knowledge of what they store

however, it does provide a sufficient plausible deniability for storage operators due to nodes only storing random encrypted chunks of data - no single node possesses the entire file

its not designed for speed and it probably does not scale well
